Approach

I learn the business before I build for it.

I start with the people doing the work: what they need, where work slows down, and what should change.

  1. Understand the work

Spend time with the team and follow how work moves through the business.

  2. Agree on the essentials

Define the priorities, who will use the system, and what to build first.

  3. Build, use, refine

Put working software in the team’s hands early. Refine it through everyday use.

  4. Support the transition

Bring across existing data, train the team, and stay involved after launch.

About

I’ve worked inside the businesses I build for.

I’m Mohamed Hijazi, a software engineer based in Accra, Ghana. I’ve worked in hotel operations, built a retail business, and run a campus transport service.

That experience shapes the questions I ask. What does the receptionist need at 2 a.m.? What does the clearing agent need at the port? What does the school accountant need at the end of term?

The answers guide what I build.
